ToadxBriar She Will be Loved

I LOVE THIS COUPLE! I’ve drawn it once before, but that picture was pretty boring I developed it in Sunrise, and I loved it then, but I love it even more now since Briarlight had her…accident. Yes I know Blossomfall apparently liked Toadstep, but it didn’t rly go anywhere. I mean, Briarlight was like “Ooooh u like Toadstep!” and Blossomfall was like “SHUT UP!” and that was the end of it. It just didn’t rly develop :/ Anyways, I always thought Toadstep and Briarlight would be a good match because…IDK, ToadxBlossom doesn’t seem right to me. Plus, I like FoxXBlossom. *points to previous deviation*
Well anyways, I think it would be good for Briarlight to have a mate, since it would give her a reason to halfway like her life and keep on living. I really like her character, and I don’t think it’s fair ppl hate on her just because Millie never stops giving her attention. Come on, Briar is probably just as annoyed by it as the fans are! If ur gonna get made at some1, get mad at Millie -______- She’s very ncie and doesn’t whine about her condition like Jayfeather does. I love Toadstep and always have…he is just plain awesome! Something about him makes me love him! I think he deserves a good mate, and Briarlight is definitely good. Maybe they can’t have kits because…well, you know, but that doesn’t mean they can’t be mates! Sheesh, relationships aren’t all about sex and babies! Briarlight needs some comfort, and Toadstep needs a girlfriend. Therefore, ToadxBriar=AWESOMENESS!
Okay, rant time. If you’re a JayxBriar fan, I suggest you stop reading. I won’t rant about ToadxBlossom, since I don’t think they’re that bad a couple, it’s just…they don’t seem…RIGHT to me. Onto JayxBriar and why I hate it. First of all, THE AGE DIFFERENCE. I admit, it could be worse, but he already had his full name while she, her siblings, Toadstep, and Rosepetal were still young kits. Naturally, pedo pairings make me gag. Second, I’m getting PRETTY DAMN SICK of ppl pairing up Jayjay with EVERY SINGLE EFFING SHE-CAT who moves into his den. First Poppyfrost, then Cinderheart, and now Briarlight. It’s getting old. Just because a she-cat is sick or injured and Jayfeather takes good care of her DOES NOT mean he loves her. Okay, so he accepts Briarlight for who she is. THAT’S HIS JOB. The medicine cat is supposed to treat the whole clan like their kits, and Jayfeather is just caring for a clanmate and trying to help her feel better about her situation, since he knows how bad it is. I know he’s grumpy, but if someone is paralyzed, who WOULDN’T try to cheer them up? Only a genuinely evil cat, that’s who :/ If an older cat like Ferncloud or Thornclaw got a broken back, he would probably act the same way. Third, Jayfeather has WAY too many pairings. He doesn’t need another one. JayxWillow, JayxPoppy, JayxHazel, JayxCinder, JayxHalf, JayxKestrel, JayxFlame, JayxBright(spirit)…isn’t that enough?!?! I mean really, this is rediculous!!! Most characters have at the most 4 or 5 pairings, but Jayfeather has like 9! Talk about rabid fangirls! WOULD U PPL JUST STOP??? HE’S NOT A FLUFFY ROMANTIC! Really -_____- Anyways, that just about concludes my rant. JAYXBRIAR SUX!
Oh, look at my awesomely original design for a background! (heavy sarcasm implied) HEARTS! It’s the best I could think up, lol. I just needed to se the color orange since I haven’t used it for any of my other backgrounds and neither of the cats r orange. Bespite the unoriginalness, the background is all right. I needed one that went with the song “She Will Be Loved,” and love is represented by hearts, so y not?
I love the way the cats came out, even if the lineart was SUCH A PAIN to draw. It was hard finding a good ref, since I needed one with the she-cat lying down, because Briarlight can’t stand up. When I DID find one, it took forever for me to get the paws looking right on Briar, and both their heads not looking stupid. What a hardass thing to draw!!!! When I did get it rite, tho, it came out looking pretty cool I rather like my design for Toadstep, with the face split down the middle and the multicolored fur tuft. Briarlight’s design is pretty cool, too. I only made her paws darker because they’d look crappy if I didn’t, but they look awesome like that I wasn’t sure if their eye colors, so I just made them both green. I was going to make Toadstep’s amber, but then I just decided…it didn’t suit him. So he’s got prettyful green eyes!
