Lionblaze's Doubts

Now, what have we here? Could it be…SOME ICEXLIONXCINDER FANART?!?! I haven’t drawn this lovely sandwitch pairing since I drew Icecloud dropping a bomb on Cinderheart! Funny thing, I talk about Icecloud being jealous of Cinderheart all the time, but I almost never draw it. I guess there are plenty of other people out there doing it for me! However, after hearing about how Lionblaze and Cinderheart got back together in The Last Hope, I was inspired to draw this.
Here’s the dealio:
It’s been 2 moons since the big battle between the Clans and the Place of No Stars, and Lionblaze and Cinderheart have sorted out their differences and started dating again. However, the relationship is starting to deteriorate—at least from Lionblaze’s side. He realizes he never loved Cinderheart at all, and his constant longing for her after she broke up with him was more of a hormone-induced infatuation. He was too eager to be in love again after his conflicted relationship with Heathertail, and he convinced himself his crush on Cinderheart was true love. And, of course, he wanted some sex already. What guy doesn’t? Now, Lionblaze has gotten laid just like he wanted, and he realizes why he is so eager to get out of his relationship. He might be able to withstand being mates with Cinderheart for the pleasure of a bang every so often if she wasn’t so boring. At first, her niceness and fun-loving yet productive nature and excellent warrior skills were what attracted him to her, but now he realizes she is just altogether too perfect, and is a bore to talk to because she always says the same things. She agrees with her boyfriend on everything, and the 2 can never find anything to fight about. Lionblaze wishes badly she wouldn’t be so pure, and would at least have some issues like any other cat. He has issues himself, and wishes he could tell them to his girlfriend without getting one-sided, shallow sympathy because she can’t relate. Lionblaze tries to start fights to adda little excitement to his dull relationship, but Cinderheart always tells him, “Stop talking in that growl, Lionblaze. Why should we fight when we’re soulmates, 2 halves of the same heart? There’s no point in being mean to one another.” Despite the fact that Lionblaze and Cinderheart both have great, evidently intertwined destinies, Lionblaze never believed in the concept of soulmates.
Soon, Lionblaze finds out a fact that is both a blessing and a burden. While out hunting, Dovewing’s senses wander around the forest and she overhears Icecloud talking to Foxleap about how she has liked Lionblaze since they were apprentices, and she would give anything for him to leave Cinderheart and give her a chance. Lionblaze is thrilled to know that another she-cat likes him, and he could have another go at love if he did end up dumping his girlfriend. On the other paw, he knows that every day he spends with Cinderheart is another day Icecloud’s heart is bleeding, and the longer he waits to dump Cinderheart, the harder the breakup will be and the more Icecloud will hurt. If he waits too long, she might even give up on liking him.
Another moon passes, and Lionblaze is torn between she-cats. He doesn’t want to be with Cinderheart, but he thinks it would be cruel to break her heat twice, boring as she may be. He is also afraid me might regret leaving her, and realize he loves her after all. He’s worried that even if he does get together with Icecloud, she might not be as great as he thought, and then Cinderheart wouldn’t take him back. Meanwhile, Icecloud is sitting in the background, loving Lionblaze with all her heart and emptily hoping someday he’ll see she’s been here all along, and wouldn’t ever take him for granted like Cinderheart does. She doubts she will ever be lucky enough to win her long-time crush over, but she convinces herself she will so she can keep moving forward with her life and continue to serve her clan. This thought, this idea, this illusion…it is the only good thing left in the young she-cat’s life. So all and all, a pretty uncomfortable situation for all 3 sandwitch pairing cats. That is, except for stupidly grinning Cinderheart, who has no idea she is boring the hell out of her boyfriend and thinks nothing can go wrong between them. Oh, Cinderheart. Poor, poor, misguided Cinderheart. You have a lot to learn, my furry friend! Or should I say, furry ENEMY?
Sooooo anyways, the story basically explains what’s going down in the picture. Icecloud loves Lionblaze, Cinderheart loves Lionblaze in a “it’s my destiny” sort of way, and Lionblaze likes Icecloud, but doesn’t want to hurt Cinderheart emotionally.
If you don’t know by now that I want Lionblaze and Icecloud together, you’ve been living under a rock. Not only does it say so in my comment signature and my deviant ID, I made a goddang fanclub for them! I absolutely DESPISE LionxCinder and wish it could die in a pit of poisonous gas. They are NOT in love, damn it! The relationship is way too rushed to be true love -________- More like overexcessive lust. Besides, it was OBVIOUSLY going to be LionxIce, but noooooo Erin Hunter had to change it at the last minute so her precious little author favorite could get a mate and have babies. How cute…NOT. Seriously, Erin, why don’t you ever think things through? She’s obviously a really bad planner or else she would’ve realized Cinderheart needed a mate earlier and had her flirt around with Lionblaze while the two were still young instead of getting our hopes up of a minor character getting some attention for once. I hate Cinderheart, she’s an unbearable mary-sue. She never should’ve been freaking reincarnated! The only reason the original Cinderpelt got hurt was because she didn’t listen to her mentor whe he told her NOT to meet Tigerclaw by the thunderpath. Idiots don’t deserve second chances, Erin Hunter. Especially if you’re going to cover them in flowers and rainbows and ake them mary-sues loved to death by everyone. God, she’s worse than Dovewing XP Besides, LionxIce is young love, while LionxCinder is essentially the equivalent of college romance. BOOOOOOORING. It is beyond my brain capacities to understand how anybody could ship this bullshit. It’s as fake as a barbie doll girl. The only reason it even came about was because oh-so-special Cindy needed a love interest, and it just HAD to be the most muscular, noble, handsome guy around, didn’t it? Because Cinderheart MUST have to perfect life to make up for ruining her own life the first time. My GOD. I was so looking forward to Icecloud and Lionblaze getting together at the end of Po3 or the beginning of OotS, but…my dreams have been crushed to tiny, sharp fragments. Well…not completely. This picture gives me renewed hope
I really like how the cats came out in this Their poses are just so natural, and their expressions came out perfect. And may I present you with my 587th Cinderheart design! I think I might actually keep this one: it looks natural, not too dark but not too light. Plus I’m getting sick of drawing her with different colors every freaking time I draw the bitch -________- I thought my reference had a really nice tabby design, so I went ahead and used it on Lion and Cinder, including making Cinder’s chest and eyelids lighter gray than the rest of her. My scanner also made Lionblaze’s coloring different…his chest was supposed to be a lighter color Buuuuut that didn’t really work out, now did it? Ah well, at least he actually looks golden. In some of my other pictures, the scanner made him look all yellowish and I didn’t bother fixing it. I really like their hair too, especially Lionblaze’s…there’s not much to say about Icecloud’s, and Cinderheart’s looks way too big and fluffy, but that’s okay, because she’s little-miss-perfect, right?
And now…the background. I used a new style of drawing trees my friend ~SamoyedWarrior taught me, nad t didn’t end up looking half bad! My trees will never look realstic, but DAMN, trees are f***ing HARD! Eh, I do my best. I really like the way the forest turned out…and yes, random bush is random. I had to put SOMETHING in that big empty space, or it would look awkward. The only problem here is the scale. I think I made the trees too small Like seriously...compared to them, Icecloud looks gigantic! FFFFFFUUUUUUUUU!!!!!
Welp here’s my reference: [link] I DIDN’T trace this thing, I’m just really good at copying lineart just by looking at it! So don’t judge me! It wasn’t too hard a picture to reference, since I didn’t have to draw any paws (one of the hardest parts of drawing a cat). HALLELUJAH!
